Sparkly Votive
Create a cobweb candleholder with wire, beads, and a glass jar—a Mason or yogurt jar will work well. Start at the top, and make a wire loop around the jar lip. Thread beads on this loop; twist ends to secure. Fasten another wire to this loop, and begin to crisscross the jar surface with wire. To create a cobweb effect, alternate plain wire with wire threaded with beads. Loop wire once at each juncture, to hold web in place. Insert small candle.
Candy and Ribbon Jars
Put spools of ribbon and colorful peppermint sticks in jars for a useful and cheery display.
Gingerbread House
There are three benefits to gingerbread houses: They're fun to make, they make great decorations, and you can eat them when you're done! For the stone cottage shown here, decorate the walls with jelly beans stuck to tinted icing, use All-Bran cereal for the thatched roof, and use sticks of cinnamon gum to line windows and roof. Surround with mounds of shimmering sugar snow for a magical wintery effect.
A Dose of Cheer
Make good use of your Christmas-themed dishes and unused ornaments by displaying them together. Surround them with mini trees in red buckets and brightly wrapped gifts.
