Montreal Old-World Home - Part 3

White-on-White Kitchen

Pattern plays its many-faceted part in an all-white kitchen. A mosaic border frames porcelain floor tiles set on the diamond, and echoes the designs of the leaded-glass cabinetry and the backsplash.

Antique Details Add Distinction

An absence of built-in cabinetry carries the theme of Old World charm into the bathroom. For storage, an armoire fronted with chicken wire lets contents breathe — a big plus in a humid room. A small sterling-silver Edwardian purse dangles from the door handle.

Neutral Master Bath

In the restfully neutral master bathroom, the absence of strong color is quite calming. The large pedestal sink and Venetian-style mirror, when paired together, give the impression of a vanity table. A blue toile de jouy fabric in a classic medallion pattern ups the style ante even further when employed for the tub's shower curtain.

Gold and Pink Bedroom

"In the bedroom, we wanted balance. Soft curves, with tailored lines, creating a comforting retreat for both spouses."

Dressing the well-made bed: choose a soothing palette, then layer bedding elements like cloud upon cloud — from floral cotton sheets to two-tone linen shams to the quilted-velvet headboard.
