Then: The truth about this room’s walls? The paneling didn’t match the rest of the house, so instead of whitewashing the wood, Richardson camouflaged it with an opaque paint, The Plaza by Glidden – a compromise that comes off as intentional.
Finally: She adopted a use-what-you-have approach to accessories and brought a vintage floral lamp and bowl out of storage to complete the room’s garden look.

Starting Point:Richardson opted for this matelasse coverlet by HillTop Interiors because it subtly references the room's water views. "The quilting reminded me of waves," she explained.
From There:Pillows sewn from an embroidered linen called Beckman Counterpane add even more texture, while continuing the aqua theme. "This was a fabric I loved but hadn't found a place for it in the main house," Richardson said.

Then: To keep the pale blues from fading away, she delivered one hit of bold color: a tomato-red ikat pillow that brings the lighter hues into sharp focus.
Finally:Richardson transformed a birch tree limb from the property into a chic little lamp that pays homage to the natural world just outside her french doors.
