American Flag Gate
An American flag gate, one of two homeowner Judi Boisson had made to replicate one she admired in the American Folk Art Museum in New York City, welcomes visitors to her newly renovated Victorian-era house.
American flags and banners adorn the front of this Federal-era house, which underwent extensive renovation. The framing of the diamond-windowed pediment that crowns the had rotted, so the owners had it replicated in weather-resistant mahogany. Native stone, or shot rock, culled from nearby construction projects, creates a new wall on the property. The traditional fencing above softens its effect.
